23/1/2009 Unfortunately the recent heat got to Mouse and, after consultation with our equine vet as to what would be best for him, we had him put down. His last years were spent in relative ease with excellent care (and a few escapes from his paddock!), which we are glad to have been able to provide (and thanks to members, donors, and sponsors making it possible for us to do so).

Everything about Jamie was BIG BIG in stature BIG hearted BIG with his respectfulness, good manners and willingness
A gentle big horse who looked out for us and his herd. A true gentleman.
Jamie was a Standardbred with a few races under his belt. As his name suggests he came to us from HRA and was George's first horse. Jamie had no self esteem, no confidence. For the first year or so, George and Jamie got to now each other and attended many shows. Jamie gradually changed - his stance changed, he stood tall and proud.
Together they took home ribbons from every show attended and after each acheiving High Point Standardbred of the Year award gave the show scene away to try other things. George and Jamie enjoyed many kms of trail riding all over NSW, lots of camp outs, MS rides and some 40km endurance rides. Jamie was a little awkward, but give him room to get that BIG frame of his into a canter and he was awesome. His BIG dinner plate hooves were always a problem, but in the past few years he had been barefoot, using boots when needed, and has been happy and free moving.
The loss of Jamie will leave a big gap in the Yuleteam. He will be sadly missed by us all.
The above was provided by George and Johanna Yule.

Nov 2009 Unfortunately Jedda's health went downhill and she was not enjoying any quality of life. We decided that it would be best for her to be put to sleep. It was a sad day, and she will be missed, but she did enjoy the time she spent at HRA with the company of the other horses.
