Horse Rescue Australia Inc. is a non-profit organisation and registered charity, devoted to the care and rehabilitation of horses that have been abused, abandoned or neglected. We are self-funded through memberships, sponsorships, donations and benefit events. HRA receives no government funding at all.

Since 1986 when we began, over 1,400 horses have passed through our gates with the vast majority placed into new homes. By supporting the new owners and not allowing horses to be sold on, we are able to assure that they will never return to the condition in which we found them.

Although sometimes heartbreaking, it is immensely gratifying when horses make a full recovery and are placed in new, caring homes. Such rehabilitation is a long and costly process, with special feeding, ongoing veterinary attention and necessities such as dentistry and farriery work.

Please look through our website, and see how you can help us help neglected and abused horses. You can become a member or sponsor a horse that you feel a connection with. We need donations, memberships, and sponsorships constantly - this is the only way the horses can get the care, feed, vet services, medicines, rugs etc that they need and deserve.
